Imagine planning a house with you and your family. Describing each detail carefully. Starting from the wallpapers to the kitchen racks. Deciding what colour would be the couches to the numbers of lamps each room would have. All of this to end up in a nursing home. That to by your own children. The ones who supported when they were in trouble. Your own children, who are not willing to take care of you back and would rather put you in a place full of strangers, who can either be friendly or be unpleasant.
Those who are unaware of nursing homes, it’s a place for older people above 50. They are given special care and activities regarding their daily routine. They meet up the needs of them in order to get paid by the people who have given them up.
Nursing homes are in every corner, of any City.
Keeping in mind that people of different habits being kept together to live and move on in life, gives a lot of pressure to the staff of the nursing faculty. It’s not an easy job I would say, but its something they have signed up for. They have to keep their opinions aside and respect their point of view towards specific things. It puts a lot of pressure on both sides. The communication plays a major role in their life, coming from different backgrounds. As much as this, they are also responsible of knowing what each person likes or dislikes for their comfort. Keeping in mind, that their comfort is important.
There are times when I would say things go the opposite. For example, nursing homes owned by government get less funds, that may cause Lack of trained staff, and the equipment required. As much as there is good points to this facility, the drawbacks are higher. Lack of trained staff, may also cause trouble for the elderly people. Their needs and care would be at stake too. Putting aside all these points, nursing homes are used for medical benefits as well, and far more better care is given than the hospitals can provide for the elderly people.
In conclusion, the concept of Home nursing are there because of the children that are unable to keep their parents with them and provide the care and love they require and deserve. Its sad how all the nursing homes are filled with elderly people and their stories are unappealing. Now I am not speaking about everyone, but those who have forced them to go. This again tells us how important nursing homes are now. At the end, Its somewhat a better place for the elder people than the ones that have been left out at home.
